If you are looking for a short break or even for a longer relaxing stay you might want to check Il Trifoglio in Ceresola di Valtorta, in the italian northern region of Lombardy.
First of all, easily reachable from both Milan and Bergamo Airports, this little place gives incredibly added value to any weekend.
When you get there just park your car and worry about what to have for dinner because every skiers’ worst nightmare is over: you are right by the slopes! The Skipasses? Their are sold next door with a special discount for the Refuge’s guests.
Need Ski rental and ski School? Again, they are right there!
The rooms are all brand new in simple mountain wood, all very cosy and extremely clean.
Mr Maurizio Forchini, the Hotel Manager, will do anything with his team to accomodate his guests.
After all he does run few other places in Italy like the Siena Hostel in Siena (www.sienahostel.it) and the Ostello Angolo da Scoprire in the equally beautiful and picturesque Val Camonica (www.angolodascoprire.it).
Perched high in the Valtorta region, Il Trifoglio offers spectacular views and serenity.
And if you are looking at genuine mountain food then look no further!
Chef Luigi Acampora surprised us every day with an incredible homemade menu with 2 sets of first and main courses plus desserts. It was more than we could ask for!
Breakfast was also excellent, again with a delicious selection of homemade pastries and cakes.
Value for money was one of the best choices see could have made. The kids loved their Ski Instructors and adults had a great time trying the over 35 km slopes.
Il Trifoglio is also open in summer for lovers of mountain trekking and long walks.
